Marek Krystian Emanuel Baczewski , actually Marek Kowalik (* 1966 in Bielawa ) is a Polish poet , prose writer and literary critic . Despite several literary prizes, he is considered one of the most underrated contemporary poets in Poland.

stage name

His artist name is made up of the three religious names Markus , Christian and Emanuel and the company name JA Baczewski (known for the production of vodka ).

Life

In 1994 Baczewski made his debut with his volume of poetry Fortepian Baczewskiego i inne Konstrukcje . Since 1995 he has been writing reviews , prose and feature articles for the quarterly publications Fa-art and Opcje . In 1997 he won the first Rainer Maria Rilke competition organized by Topos magazine .

He lives in Zawiercie .
