Marek Pivovar

Marek Pivovar (born June 26, 1964 in Brno ) is a Czech writer, dramaturge and director.

Pivovar studied acting at the Masaryk University in Brno. He then worked as a culture editor for Brněnské večerník and Jiří Kuběna's Revue Box and finally as an editor for the Czech Radio in Brno. Since 1994 he has been dramaturge at the Narodní Divadlo Moravskoslzské (Moravian-Silesian National Theater) in Ostrava, and he also worked in the same position at the city's national theater for two years. He participated in more than 60 productions, arranged works for the stage and wrote the libretti for two ballets: Tance Rudolfa II. And Spor aneb Dotyky . In 2000 he took part in the Temporalia International Theater Festival in Brussels. Since 2003 he has been a dramaturge at the Mahen Theater . He also worked continuously as a director for radio and occasionally television.
