The Maresi Group is an Austrian sales and service company based in Vienna . Vivatis Holding is the full owner . In addition to its own brand "Maresi Alpenmilch" and the products of several food manufacturers it has taken over, the company also sells and markets brands from other manufacturers in its markets. The company consists of Maresi Austria GmbH & Co KG and its foreign subsidiaries Maresi Foodbroker .
history
Maresi was founded in 1949 as the "Agricultural Food Industry" and has been producing the Maresi Alpine milk (a type of condensed milk ), which is usually associated with the brand name, since 1955 . Since 1974 Maresi has also been active as a service company. At that time, "Dreh & Drink", a lemonade brand for children, was added to the range, marketed and distributed. The company has also been active abroad since 1991, when the first subsidiary was founded in Hungary. The Czech Republic was added in 1993 and Slovakia in 1999 . Since 1995, Maresi sales and the service area for partner brands have been part of the newly founded "Maresi Foodbroker GmbH". In 2003 " Inzersdorfer " was taken over and in 2004 the brands "Himmeltau", "Bonelli" and "Shan Shi" were added to the range, which have been marketed and distributed since then.
In 2005 the Maresi Group experienced a drop in sales of 1.8 million euros to 83.4 million euros.
