The Inzersdorfer Nahrungsmittelwerke Ges. Mb H. was a food company based in Vienna - Inzersdorf ( Inzersdorfer-Werk ), which was founded around 1870 by the Eisler and Breden families as the "First Austrian military canning factory". In 2003 the company was sold to Vivatis Holding AG and production in Vienna-Inzersdorf was abandoned, but the Inzersdorfer brand was retained.

history

At the turn of the century, the kk went exclusively to the privileged canned and soup extract factory Ig. Eisler & Comp. in the possession of the President of Anglobank Ltd. London-Vienna via. After the merger with the group, the company now had factories in Poland, Italy, Hungary and Spain in addition to the main factory. Around 1918 the group fell apart with the collapse of the monarchy, only the main plant remained.

In 1939 the commercial councilor Hermann Voith and his sister Else Pecher took over the company. Due to its focus on military supplies, the company benefited from World War II , but was confiscated and cleared out by the Red Army at the end of the war .

During the reconstruction, the company concentrated on long-life food for household and gastronomy and profited from the travel and camping wave in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1980 the company received the state award and thus the right to use the federal coat of arms in business dealings. In 1999 a net turnover of 500 million schillings was achieved with 140 employees.

Until 2003 the company was managed by the G. Voith and K. and M. Pecher families as Ges. Mb H. Then Inzersdorfer was sold to Vivatis and incorporated into its branded goods distributor and marketer Maresi . In the course of the takeover at the end of November 2003, after 130 years, production in Vienna-Inzersdorf was given up, the factory was bought by the City of Vienna. The historically valuable parts of the building are to be preserved and incorporated into a residential and hotel project.

Inzersdorfer Nahrungsmittelwerke Ges. Mb H. was the market leader in Austria for spreads and ready meals. Soups, vegetables, compotes and jams are also produced under this brand.

Since the takeover, the spreads and ready meals have been produced by the Landhof company in Linz and the GOURMET GROUP in St. Pölten.
