Margareta von Zedtwitz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Margareta von Zedtwitz († October 10, 1499 ) was abbess of the Himmelkron monastery from 1484 to 1499.

Margareta came from the von Zedtwitz family . Under Margareta the monastery suffered from difficult economic conditions, monastery buildings became ruinous and the management of the land was only incomplete. As a result, reforms were introduced, but these did not fundamentally improve the situation. The epitaph of the abbess in the monastery church has the coat of arms of Zedtwitz, a division into silver, red and black, as a central motif.
