Margit Gottstein

Margit Gottstein (born November 1, 1960 in Konstanz ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). She is State Secretary for Consumer Protection and Anti-Discrimination at the Berlin Senator for Justice, Consumer Protection and Anti-Discrimination .

After attending school, Gottstein studied political science at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau and at the Free University of Berlin with a degree in political science in 1986.

She initially worked as a research assistant at the university in the field of international politics (1989 to 1995), then for the MPs Amke Dietert-Scheuer (1995 to 1998) and Marieluise Beck (1999 to 2000) and for the parliamentary group of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen (2000 to 2004) active. She then moved to the federal administration as head of the integration officer.

From May 18, 2011 to May 17, 2016, she held office in Cabinet Beck V and Cabinet Dreyer I as State Secretary in the Ministry for Integration, Family, Children, Youth and Women of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Since December 8, 2016, she has been State Secretary for Consumer Protection and Anti-Discrimination at the Berlin Senator for Justice, Consumer Protection and Anti-Discrimination .
