Margit Hettling

Margit Hettling , married Hundt , (* 1943 in Bremen ) is a German swimmer and multiple German champion.

biography

Hettling is the daughter of Ludwig Hettling (190? –1973), who was twice the North German champion over 400 m crawl and was chairman of the SV Weser swimming club from 1946 to 1971 . Her brother Hans-Walter Hettling was the North German champion in the 400 m and 1500 m crawl and the 400 m individual medley in 1964.

Hettling began swimming training at the age of eleven. She swam for the SV Weser and the Bremen Swimming Club (BSV). She won four German youth championships and set four German records; She was German champion nine times from 1964 to 1967. She became over 400 m freestyle at the German Swimming Championships in 1964 in Berlin, and in Itzehoe in 1965 . 1966 in Sindelfingen and 1967 in Essen four times in a row German champion. She also won the title over the 800 m crawl distance twice. She achieved her best time of 10: 23.6 minutes over the 800 m crawl in 1966.

Hettling was nominated for the relay at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, but was not used due to injury.

She is married to Gerhard Hundt and ran a cosmetic studio in Thedinghausen in the 2000s .
