Margit Wanek

Margit Wanek is an Austrian national table tennis player . In 1959 she was Austrian individual champion.

Career

Margit Wanek played for the clubs Steyr (around 1957) and SSV Linz (around 1958). In 1957 she won the Austrian youth championship. At the adult championships in 1959 she won the singles and doubles titles with Kolisek.

In 1959 and 1963 she was nominated for the world championships and in 1960 for the European championship , but did not come close to medal ranks.

She married in the 1960s and then performed under the name Margit Wurzer . In 1966 she had a son. Until 1999 she took on official duties in the Upper Austrian Table Tennis Association, for which she was awarded honorary membership.
