Margo De Mello

Margo De Mello (* 1964 ) is an American anthropologist , university professor , author and program director for human-animal studies at the Institute for Animals and Society Intercultural Anthrozoology .

Life

Margo De Mello studied Religious Studies (BA) at the University of California, Berkeley in 1988 and Sociocultural Anthropology (MA) at the University of California, Davis in 1991 . There she received her Ph.D. PhD.

From 2004 to 2015 she was a lecturer at the Department of Communications, Humanities & Social Sciences, Central New Mexico Community College. She has been an Associate Professor at Canisius College since 2013 . She teaches in the anthrozoology program on the subjects of intercultural anthrozoology, animals as raw materials, animals and war, animals in popular culture and critical animal experiments.
