The Orthodox Dormition Church (Polish: Cerkiew Zaśnięcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny ) in Krakow is a church at ul. Szpitalna 24, in the northern part of Kraków's Old Town .
history
The church is located in a baroque town house, the so-called Jordanowski House. The building was given to the Jewish community in Krakow as a synagogue by Selig Hirsch Steif in 1900. The Ahawat Raim Synagogue has been located here ever since . The synagogue was destroyed by the German occupiers in 1940 and the building was handed over to the Orthodox community in Krakow. Since then, the Assumption Church has been located in the Jordanowski House.
