On November 1st, 2006 the parish of Mariä Lichtmess was established. In this context, the parishes of St. Nikolaus with the subsidiary church of Mariä Lichtmess and St. Johann with the subsidiary church of Guter Hirt were abolished and assigned to the newly established parish, which included around 5200 Catholics when it was founded.

The construction is multifunctional. In the almost square church space, the benches are arranged in a semicircle around the altar. The church space can be enlarged or reduced as required using two mobile partition walls. These rooms can also be used as community rooms.
