Maria Afonso
Maria Afonso (* 1301 ; † 1320 ) was an illegitimate daughter of the Portuguese King Dionysius (Dom Dinis) from his relationship with Marinha Gomes.
She spent her life as a nun in the monastery of Odivelas . She was murdered at the age of 19.
Her grave is on the left side of the main altar of the monastery church.
A square in Odivelas , the Praceta Maria Afonso, was named after her .
