Maria Frieden is a Roman Catholic branch church in Heuchelheim an der Lahn .

history

The history of a Marienkirche in Heuchelheim goes back to the Middle Ages , but the current church is a result of developments after the Second World War . Due to the influx from Silesia and the Sudetenland after the Second World War, the number of Catholics in the district of Gießen grew, so that the previous structure of parishes was no longer sufficient. On March 5, 1967, a provisional church pavilion was built in Heuchelheim, which belonged to the parish of St. Albertus . The official establishment of the branch church took place on February 1, 1974.

On December 6, 1978, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new church took place. On May 2, 1982 the church was consecrated to Mary , the Mother of God, by Cardinal Hermann Volk .

organ

In June 1986 the electronic Böhm organ was inaugurated. Since 2005 the community has been collecting for a new pipe organ , which was inaugurated on October 26, 2014.
