Maria Kesselmeier

Maria Kesselmeier ( sister Aicharda ) (* 1882 in Paderborn ; † June 7, 1975 in Neheim ) was a community sister and 1st honorary citizen of Neheim-Hüsten .

Life

Maria Kesselmeier was born in Hövelborn near Paderborn in 1882. As the oldest of ten siblings, she quickly learned to take responsibility for the family. At the age of 22 she was accepted into the Order of the Merciful Vincentines. I trained as a nurse and then worked for 10 years in the St. Vinzenz Hospital in Menden. In 1922, at the age of 40, she came to the St. Johannes Hospital in Neheim. In the following decades city sister Aicharda set unmistakable signs in the sick and poor care over a period of 50 years with her commitment based on Christian faith and her loyalty to the religious vows. In cooperation with the parish Caritas and the medical profession, she knew exactly where help was needed. Sister Aicharda became a concept of helpfulness.
