Maria Laura Bono

Maria Laura Bono (born January 20, 1967 in Rome ) is an Austrian social scientist in the field of nonprofit consulting and research.

Bono graduated from high school in Rome and studied economics in Graz. After completing a master’s degree at the London School of Economics and spending several months in the USA, Ecuador, South Africa and Russia, Bono completed a series of training courses on the organization and management of social enterprises, such as the ISMOS university course at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Diploma course in NPO controlling from the Austrian Controller Institute. In her adopted home Graz, she did her doctorate in 2015 in the field of human resource management in health and nursing .

Bono held a managerial position in several NPOs . After her first work experience in London, in the mid-1990s she launched the Grazer street newspaper das Megaphon under the sponsorship of Caritas . From 2001 to 2004 Bono was managing director of the DOWAS association, Bregenz. Most recently in the office of the Vorarlberg state government responsible for controlling the social fund , Bono specialized in the topic of impact assessment in the social area and founded the consulting company socialimpact research & consulting in Graz at the beginning of 2007 . She is the author of several specialist publications and a lecturer or speaker at various institutions (including Management Center Innsbruck, Austrian Controller Institute - Vienna). The economist has been working as a consultant at ICG (Integrated Consulting Group) since 2011 and also teaches at the FH Joanneum Graz and the Management Center Innsbruck . Her current work focuses on innovation management in NPOs as well as impact-oriented control measures in organizations.

Maria Laura Bono lives in Graz. She is married and has three sons. Bono volunteers for development issues and the protection of human rights.
