Maria Papayanni

Maria Papayanni ( Greek Μαρία Παπαγιάννη Maria Papagianni , * 1964 in Larisa ) is a Greek author.

life and work

Maria Papayanni studied Greek literature in Thessaloniki. After coming to Athens, she worked as a journalist for radio, TV and various magazines. In recent years she has concentrated more on writing books for children and teenagers, and has also translated books into Greek. In Greece she received several awards for her books. She also wrote plays for children, puppet theater works, and lyrics for musical analogy. In 2012 she was a member of the jury for the award The Extraordinary Book of the children and youth program of the Berlin International Literature Festival . Maria Papayanni lives and works in Athens.
