Maria Walburga Burgstaller , married Maria Walburga Daughtermann ( April 7, 1770 in Illereichen - after 1822) was a German singer and stage actress .

Life

Burgstaller, the daughter of a hunter, was sent to Augsburg from an early age to be raised by a wealthy maternal uncle .

In 1785 she went to the theater, and was one of those girls who, through "cute singing and good play" under the direction of Franz Grimmer , attracted attention in Switzerland, in Württemberg, on the Rhine, in Franconia, etc., earned all the applause and was generally considered popular and welcome.

In 1795 she went to Augsburg to see Joseph Voltolini and in 1796 to Konstanz to Franz Joseph Rosner , where she married the opera singer Philipp Jakob Daughtermann in the same year and worked with him as a second drama lover at the Churfürstlichen Hoftheater zu Mannheim in 1798, but in the opera only sang third roles.

She was very popular there, but after two years she went to the court theater in Munich with her husband . There she played affectionate and funny mothers, young women, aging maids, etc., with a great deal of applause. She stayed at this theater until 1810.

In 1823 their daughter Albertine Daughtermann , who also became an opera singer, was born.
