Maria do Nascimento da Graça Amorim is a diplomat and politician from São Tomé and Príncipe .

biography

After São Tomé and Príncipe gained independence on July 12, 1975, she was appointed the country's first ambassador to France and Portugal .

After her return in 1978 she was appointed Foreign Minister in the government of President Manuel Pinto da Costa . She held this office until 1986 and was replaced by the current President Fradique de Menezes .

At the same time, Maria do Nascimenta Graça Amorin was a member of the Politburo of the then unity party Movimento de Libertação de São Tomé e Príncipe (MLSTP) between 1984 and 1996 .
