Building

The Mariahilf Chapel is a small sacred building with a rectangular floor plan with a polygonal choir, a shingle-roofed gable roof and a wooden roof turret. The shingled gable ridge rises above the entrance portal and has round-arched sound openings and a pyramid roof, which is crowned by a ball and cross. The yellow plastered outer walls are pierced on the long sides by two flat-arched closed windows, the western entrance wall, on the other hand, has a basket-arched closed portal and two small wall openings above. Inside, the ceiling is formed by a steep barrel vault over a profiled cornice, with a wooden gallery at the entrance.

The wooden altar with marble frame dates from around 1800 and consists of a box canteen with frame ornamentation and cross medallion, double columns with acanthus leaves and a cranked entablature. The altar is crowned by a round gable, which is decorated with putti, grapes and the monogram of Mary. The altar sheet shows a representation of Mariahilf in oil on canvas, the painting being a copy of Cranach. Other pieces of equipment in the chapel include wooden stalls from the 19th century, paintings of the Stations of the Cross in oil on canvas, which were used around 1800, and a reliquary from the second half of the 19th century, which is said to house a piece of Jesus' crib. The chapel also houses several paintings of saints, a lecture cross from the second half of the 18th century, as well as several console figures and two bells that were cast after the Second World War.
