Marianne Dohmen

Marianne Dohmen (born July 6, 1937 in Mönchengladbach ; † May 14, 2009 ) was a German politician of the SPD .

education and profession

After completing secondary school, Marianne Dohmen attended the technical college for home economics. There she graduated as a domestic manager. Subsequently, until 1965 she was the manager of workers' dormitories for foreign women.

politics

Marianne Dohmen became a member of the SPD in 1974. From 1982 she was a member of the local association's executive committee, of which she became deputy chairwoman from 2002. From 1987 she was a member of the Mönchengladbach subdistrict board, from 1989 to 1997 deputy subdistrict chairwoman. Further political career: 1991 to 1997 member of the Lower Rhine District Committee, 1993 to 1996 its chairman. From 1984 to 1989 she was a member of the district council and from 1989 to 1998 a member of the Mönchengladbach City Council. Member of the parliamentary committee of the SPD from 1995 to 1998. From 1998 she functioned as an expert citizen in the city council of Mönchengladbach.

From July 2, 1998 to June 1, 2000 and from May 6, 2003 to June 2, 2005, she was a member of the 12th and 13th North Rhine-Westphalian state parliaments, to which she moved.
