Mariano Chicho Frúmboli (born September 21, 1970, Buenos Aires , Argentina) is an Argentine tango dancer. As one of the founders of Tango Nuevo , he is now considered a virtuoso master of dance and is known for his improvisations. He is involved in enriching the traditionally rather conservative dance scene with modern influences. Here Chicho, as Frúmboli is affectionately known by his fans, finds many imitators with his innovative dance style. Above all, Chicho impresses with the extremely precise implementation of the rhythm of the music in the dance.

biography

Frúmboli was already playing drums when he was 13. In 1984 he began his studies in musicology and later, from 1992 to 1998, continued his studies in the theater in Buenos Aires .

He started showing with Lucía Mazer in 1999. Eugenia Parrilla was his partner from 2003 to 2006 . He is currently performing with Juana Sepúlveda .

His live performances with numerous tango orchestras also include Neotango groups such as Gotan Project , Tanghetto and Narcotango .

He plays a key role in the film Tango Libre (2012).
