Mariano Renato Monteiro da Cruz

Mariano Renato Monteiro da Cruz is an East Timorese university professor and politician. He has an engineering degree.

Career

After the Indonesians withdrew from East Timor in 1999, Cruz helped rebuild the Universidade Nasionál Timór Lorosa'e (UNTL) as Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs. As of September 2010, he took two years of unpaid leave from this post. In 2015 he was at UNTL in the civil engineering department.

On September 29, 2017, Cruz was appointed Vice Minister for Development for Public Works and sworn in on October 3. His term of office as Vice Minister ended when the Eighth Government of East Timor took office on June 22, 2018.
