Maximilian Saßerath  (born September 16, 1993 in Buxtehude ) is a German  triathlete  and German champion in cross duathlon (2016).

Career

Maximilian Saßerath started triathlon at the age of nine. He is trained by Benjamin Herrera.

Maximilian Saßerath studies physics at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg.
In August 2014 he was third at the World Cross Triathlon Championships in class 20-24.

German champion cross duathlon

In October 2016, the 24-year-old became German cross-duathlon champion at the “KraichgauMan” in Östringen (7 km run, 24 km mountain bike and 3.5 km run). In March 2017 he became German Vice-Champion.

His sister Anna Pauline Saßerath (* 1998), who is five years younger than him, is also active as a cross-triathlete.
