Marie-Theres Kastner

Marie-Theres Kastner (born May 9, 1950 in Recklinghausen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2000 to 2010 she was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Life

Kastner graduated from high school in 1968 and then studied German, history and social sciences at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster until 1970 . From 1970 to 1975 she continued her studies at the University of Würzburg and in 1974 passed her state examination in German and history. The state examination in social sciences followed a year later. Until 1977 she did a legal traineeship, after which she worked within her family. Kastner is married and has four children.

politics

Kastner has been a member of the CDU since 1982. Since 1998 she has been an assessor of the Münster district board and from 1984 to 1986 she was deputy chairwoman of the local union Münster-Geist, after which she was its chairwoman until 1993. From 1989 to August 2000 she was a council member of the city of Münster. During this time she was mayor of Münster from 1995 to 2000. She was also deputy chairwoman of the CDU council group from 1994 to 1995. Since 2000 she has been a member of the board of the CDU's Münsterland district association and since 2003 board member of the North Rhine-Westphalia CDU. Since 2005 she has been the deputy chairwoman of the Münster district association of the CDU and also national chairwoman of the Catholic Parents in Germany (KED). Since June 2, 2000 she has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, where she is a full member of the Committee for Schools and Further Education and the Committee for Generations, Family and Integration. She is also the spokesperson for her party in the Committee on Generations, Family and Integration.
