Marie Germany
Marie Deutschland is a German band that was founded in 1980 by Heidemarie Rüttinger and her husband Michael.
The name of the band, which is also the official stage name of Heidemarie Rüttinger, refers to the first name of the singer Heide- Marie and the fact that the songs are in German.
The compositions and texts come almost entirely from the pen of lead singer Heidemarie Rüttinger. Typical characteristics of their music are dreamlike-mystical lyrics and rock-orchestral instrumentation.
After a few gigs in 1981/1982 the band broke up and Heidemarie and Michael Rüttinger tried their luck alone. In 1983 the record company " EMI Electrola" became aware and the first single Frau Trude and an EP under the same title were released. Several television appearances followed, including in the (then) popular ARD programs " Bananas " and " Formula One ". A long-playing record was released in 1984, as well as the second single Queen of the Night , which was relatively successful in the course of the Neue Deutsche Welle .
Well-known guest musicians at the live performances and studio recordings were among others. a. Yogo Pausch , Helge Schneider (on saxophone ) and Olders Frenzel from your children .
But Marie Germany - now the mother of five children - suddenly ended the career she had just started at the end of 1984 to devote herself to her family.
After she had turned her back on the music business, Heidemarie Rüttinger worked intensively with her husband to set up her own game development company, where she was given the role of illustrator . But she has remained a musician: new songs were created that were never published. It wasn't until 2006 that Marie Germany decided to go into the studio to record the new material. So initially an EP came out with four titles: Mother Earth , Fantasy , Ave Maria and Intermezzo .
On April 16, 2008, the album Das Pendel des Schicksals was finally released with 15 songs.
