Maria Guercio

Maria Guercio , also Mariella Guercio , is an Italian archivist and has been president of the Associazione Nazionale Archivistica Italiana since 2015 . In addition to teaching at the university, she is primarily active at the level of the European Union .

From 1978 to 1998 Guercio was archivist at the Ministero per i beni culturali . From 1993 she taught electronic data management and archival informatics at the University of Macerata , in 1995 she was visiting professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver , Canada , in 1998 professore associato for archival teaching at the University of Urbino , then from 2001 as associate professor and from 2004 as full professor .

In 2000 she worked as one of the experts for the EU who were supposed to determine which conditions must be met for electronic archive data storage (MoReq, again in 2007 and 2010 for Moreq2). From 1997 to 1999 she was a member of the Forum della Società dell'informazione of the EU. She was a member of the working group responsible for data management and the definition of corresponding standards in 2003, and then from 2006 to 2009 of the Commissione sulla conservazione digital e dematerializzazione . From 2001 to 2004 she was co-director of the ERPANET project, which aims to create a network of excellence for the preservation of electronic documents; She also headed the task force dealing with formats and methods in the Delos project for the development of a digital library from 2004 to 2007. Since 2006 Guercio has been a partner in the European CASPAR project , which deals with the conservation of digital resources in the cultural sector, but also research and the performing arts . From 2011 to 2014 she participated in the European project APARSEN, coordinating the WP 24 Authenticity and Provenance together with Silvio Salza . She headed the "Team Italy" at InterPares from 1999 to 2012 and took part in the international i-Trust project, which is planned for 2013 to 2018. From 2014 to 2016 she represented the Roman University of La Sapienza , where she has been teaching since 2012, in the European project Food & Drink .

From 2004 to 2013 she was director of the magazine Archivi e computer , since 2015 in the same position at J-Lis .

Since 2004 she has been a member of the scientific committee of the Fondazione Feltrinelli and the Fondazione Pirelli .
