The Marienbrunnen is a fountain at the south-east end of the Residenzplatz in Eichstätt . The statue of Mary rises up in the middle of the fountain . The fountain was built between 1777 and 1780. The Italian baroque architect Maurizio Pedetti was in charge. The fountain was commissioned by Eichstätt Prince-Bishop Raymund Anton von Strasoldo and the city.

The list of monuments for Eichstätt of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation describes the fountain as follows:

"... Curved basin with set monumental Marian column, decorative figures and chain framing, 1777 to around 1780, by Maurizio Pedetti , figures by Johann Jakob Berg , the statue of the Virgin copper-drifted and fire-gilded."

The fountain is listed as number D-1-76-123-229 in the Bavarian list of monuments.
