Marienhof (Fincken)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marienhof is a district of the municipality Fincken in the southwest of the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Until it was incorporated into Fincken on January 1, 2010, Marienhof was part of the previously independent municipality of Jaebetz .

The Marienhof district is divided into two residential complexes, the larger part of which consists of five individual farmsteads that adjoin Jaebetz to the west. The second, much smaller part is about a kilometer from the first complex and is at the end of Weidenwegstrasse. This contains only four houses, which were built in the early 1930s. Originally there was also an old forge that burned down during the Second World War, the remains with the property are now privately owned.

On a cultural and touristic basis, this district is characterized by the festival “Irgendwo im Nirgendwo”, which takes place every year. The aim of the festival is to promote young regional bands.
