The Church of St. Mary ( Polish Sanctuary Maryjne w Szczyrku ), also called the Sanctuary on the Mountain ( Polish Sanctuary "Na Górce" ), in Szczyrk , Poland , is a Catholic church. It is a Marian shrine.
history
The apparition of Mary in Szczyrk is said to have occurred in 1894. The first wooden church was built in the 19th century. The current construction began in 1912 and was completed after the First World War. The Salesians of Don Bosco from Auschwitz have been responsible for the church since 1938. In 1948 the church was rebuilt.
