Marian column Pasing

The Mariensäule is a religious monument in Munich district Pasing .

The statue was erected on Marienplatz in Pasing in 1881 , but was removed in 1908 because of the tram line established at the time . For decades there was a taxi rank in its place . The Mariensäule only existed since October 25, 1980 on the initiative of the Pasinger Mariensäule e. V. back in its original place.

Since 2014 there has been a memorial inscription on the back of the column in honor of the long-time Pasing pastor Georg Schuster , who played a key role in the rebuilding of the Marian column.
