Marijn Backer

Marijn Backer (born September 6, 1956 in Leiden ) is a Dutch columnist , teacher, poet and author of books for children and young people.

Life

Backer grew up in Zeeland and later near Amersfoort . He is a columnist for the NRC Handelsblad and has a bi-weekly column on education. Backer works in Bilthoven in the school " Werkplaats Kindergemeenschap " (founded by Kees Boeke ) as a team leader and is also a teacher of Greek and Latin there. He wrote a Latin textbook that had a didactic influence on the development of Latin education in the Netherlands.
