Marin-Marie (born December 10, 1901 in Fougerolles-du-Plessis , † June 11, 1987 in Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët ), real name Marin Marie Paul Emmanuel Durand Couppel de Saint-Front , was a French writer and Marine painter.

Life

His mother Marie died in 1913. He studied in Rennes and received his doctorate in law. He also took evening courses at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris . In 1923/24 he exhibited his first works in Paris (Galerie Devambez).

Marin-Marie accompanied Captain Charcot on his Arctic expedition. Since 1935 Marin-Marie was an official painter for the French Navy . He was the bearer of the order of the Gallic Francisque .
