Marina Rinaldi is an Italian fashion house specializing in the creation of women's clothing over size 42 and belongs to the holding company Max Mara Fashion Group . In 2012, the brand generated sales of EUR 165 million.

history

The Marina Rinaldi brand was founded in 1980 and got its name from the great-grandmother of the founding president of the Max Mara Fashion Group, Achille Maramotti, who ran a tailoring studio in the city of Reggio nell'Emilia at the end of the 19th century . The reference segment of the brand is that of comfortable sizes.

In the 1990s, Marina Rinaldi decided to present his lifestyle in a fashion magazine that appears like an established fashion magazine. This is how MR Characters came into being in 1991, the brand's in-house organ dedicated to the needs of curvy women. The first edition of this free, biannual magazine was distributed worldwide in 1992 and translated into English, French and Spanish.
