Marina Toribiong (born June 13, 1994 ) is a Palau canoeist .

biography

Marina Toribiong started canoeing at the age of 14. In 2015 she was nominated by the national canoeing association for the U23 World Cup in Portugal. Since there was no single kayak in Palau , she stayed with her aunt in California in preparation . For two months she trained twice a day in San Diego, 60 kilometers away .

A year later she was able to secure a quota place for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . As the first and so far only athlete in canoeing, she started in a single kayak over 200 meters and 500 meters , but could not reach the finals both times.
