Marindia is a seaside resort in southern Uruguay .

geography

It is located on the edge of the Río de la Plata on the Costa de Oro in the Canelones department . Marindia is located east of the capital Montevideo near the seaside resorts of Atlántida and Parque del Plata to the east . Fortín de Santa Rosa is located immediately to the east, adjacent to Marindia . To the west, Salinas connects to the seaside resort.

Residents

Marindia has 3,543 inhabitants (as of 2011) . This makes the place one of the settlements within the department with the greatest population growth in recent times, because in 1996 the population was only 1,493.
