A marine evacuation system ( MES : ship evacuation system ) consists of an inflatable life slide or a rescue tube connected to an inflatable life raft . This allows people to slide directly from the embarkation station into the raft, which is usually covered.

MES are primarily used on passenger ships, i.e. H. Ferries and cruise ships are used. In the German Navy , frigates and task force supplies have been equipped with MES.

The best known manufacturers of marine evacuation systems are Zodiac , Viking, RFD Beaufort and Liferaft Systems Australia.
