Mario is a twelve-part Austrian television series from 1963 that was shown in Germany in 1963 on ARD .

The focus of the television series is the boy Mario, who experiences twelve adventures in the Tyrolean Alps with his dog Truxi , Trux in later episodes . Mario skis skillfully in every episode , making skiing popular with children in the 1960s. The Austrian ski world champion Dagmar Rom and her son Mario Rom played the two main roles in the television series . Directed by Otto Anton Eder and Hans Grimm . The well-known mountain film specialist Walter Riml took over the camera work for the first six episodes of the series . The cameramen Hannes Staudinger and Walter Partsch shot later episodes. Günter Peis wrote the screenplay based on his youth book of the same name. Günter Peis was also the producer of the television series.
