Mario Omar Guilloti (born May 20, 1946 in Chacabuco , Buenos Aires Province , Argentina ) is a former Argentine welterweight boxer.

amateur

At the Pan American Games in 1967 in Winnipeg, Guilloti finished second in the welterweight division (-67). He suggested u. a. Jesse Valdez , USA . In 1968 Guilloti won the Olympic Games in Mexico City after victories over Andrew Kajjo, Uganda (4-1), Donato Paduano, Canada (5-0), and Armando Muniz, USA (4-1), and a semi-final defeat against Joseph Bessala, Cameroon (5-0), the bronze medal.

He turned pro in 1969 and won 29 of his first 31 fights in one loss and one draw. In 1975 he failed twice when trying to become Argentine welterweight champion, Miguel Ángel Campanino . In March he was disqualified in the first round, in June he lost on points.

Guilloti then showed appealing fights for almost five years. In April 1980 he boxed again for the Argentine title. This time he was able to defeat Edoardo Jorge Yanni in the twelfth and final round by knocking out. The title defense failed, however, in September of the same year he lost to Alfredo Rubén Lucero after a technical knockout in the eighth round.

Guilloti's further professional career then showed more shadow than light. Of his last fifteen fights, he was able to win only four, and he also reached a draw. In November 1983 he ended his career.
