Mario von Cranach

Mario von Cranach (born February 10, 1931 in Berlin ) is a professor emeritus of psychology.

Life

After graduating from high school, von Cranach first studied law , then psychology at the universities of Cologne , Bonn , Münster and Munich . From 1959 to 1964 he was a research assistant at the University of Mannheim . He then went to Munich and headed the working group for social psychology at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry . From 1971 until his retirement in 1996 he was Professor of Psychology at the University of Bern . To this day, he has held various visiting professorships.

The focus of his academic work is on non-verbal communication, social attitudes, social representations and social knowledge, targeted action by individuals and groups, as well as problems of free will and action.
