Marion Dane Bauer
Marion Dane Bauer (born November 20, 1938 in Oglesby , Illinois ) is an American children's author.
Life
She grew up in Illinois and co-founded the Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults at the Vermont College of Fine Arts .
Rain of Fire (1983) won the Jane Addams Children's Book Award in 1984. Bauer received the Kerlan Award in 1986. On My Honor (1986) won the Newbery Medal Honor in 1987 and the William Allen White Children's Book Award in 1989. The anthology Am I Blue won the Lambda Literary Award in 1994 and the Stonewall Book Award for literature in 1995. The Longest Night won the Golden Kite Award in 2009.
