Marion Lausberg

Marion Lausberg (born December 4, 1946 in Altenstadt / Iller ) is a German classical philologist .

Life

Marion Lausberg, the daughter of the Romanist Heinrich Lausberg , studied classical philology and archeology in Münster , where she received her doctorate on July 16, 1969 with the dissertation Investigations on Seneca's Fragments (Berlin 1970). She then worked as a research assistant in Münster, where she qualified as a professor there in 1979 with the work Das Einzeldistichon. Studies on the ancient epigram (Munich 1982). In 1984 she was appointed professor for a limited period. Two years later she moved to the University of Augsburg , where she held the chair for Classical Philology, especially Latin . At the end of the winter semester 2011/2012, she retired. On the occasion of their adoption took place on 27./28. January 2012 the colloquium Aspects of a Cultural History of the Roman Imperial Era and its survival took place.

Her main research interests are the genres epic and epigram as well as their post-ancient reception.
