Marion Rösiger

Marion Rösiger is a former German canoeist .

Marion Rösiger and Martina Bischof won four GDR championships in a two-man kayak over 500 m between 1976 and 1979 . In 1977 she also won in singles, in 1978 and 1979 in four. In 1977 and 1978 the duo Rösiger / Bischof became world champions and in 1979 vice world champions. Due to "contacts with the West", Rösiger was not nominated for the two-man kayak before the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , although she had qualified for it like Bishop and Carsta Genaus . The K2 has been occupied by a bishop and a genius and won the gold medal over 500 m.

In 1978 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit.
