location

It is located in the eastern center of the Lavalleja department in its 8th sector near the border with the neighboring Maldonado department . It is located south of the Cuchilla del Águila and the Arroyo Sarandí and north of the Arroyo Calera .

history

Originally founded by the resident landowner Cándido N. Cal in 1910 under the name 19 de Abril , the current name by which the area was known prevailed.

Infrastructure

The Ruta 8 runs through the city , which has its kilometer point 183 here.

Sports

The local Complejo Deportivo "Eugenio Perdomo" football field has two stands with separate entrances. The complex has a capacity of around 2000 spectators. This is where the two Mariscalas football clubs play their games. On the one hand, this is the Centro Uruguayo de Mariscala , which was founded on November 25, 1911, but it has only had a football department since 1998, when it merged with the local clubs CA Defensor, Estación FC, Huracán FC and Sportivo Unión FC. Club Nacional de Fútbol de Mariscala , founded on December 11, 1988, is the second football club in Mariscalas.
