K64.4 Skin tags as a consequence of hemorrhoids
ICD-10 online (WHO version 2019)

As Anal Tag ( f. Plural skin tags ), anal cleft, -läppchen or -karunkel is called a fold of skin in the region of the anus .

When inspection and palpation there are pain-free, soft Hautläppchen or wrinkles are in front, which the press does not fill with blood and can not be pushed back into the anal canal. The cause is unknown.

Skin tags that cause no discomfort do not require any therapy. Larger skin tags can make anal hygiene more difficult and thus possibly lead to itching or anal eczema and are therefore removed under local anesthesia . Since larger open wounds in the anal area usually heal without any problems, wound closure using sutures is not indicated. If performed properly, injuries to the sphincter should also be reliably avoided.

Primary skin tags form idiopathically in the form of tumor-like overgrowth of the skin. Secondary skin tags are found, for example, in the context of chronic anal fissures and are called outpost folds there.
