Marius van der Put

Marius van der Put (* 1941 ) is a Dutch mathematician who studies number theory (p-adic geometry and analysis), algebraic geometry, and differential Galois theory. He is a professor at the University of Groningen .

Van der Put received his doctorate in 1967 from the University of Utrecht under Frederik van der Blij (and Antonie Frans Monna ) (Algèbres des fonctions continus p-adique). Among other things, he was a visiting scientist at MSRI . His book with Michael Singer on differential Galois theory is a standard work.
