Mariusz Muszyński

Mariusz Muszyński (born July 6, 1964 in Brześć Kujawski ) is a Polish legal scholar, law professor and since 2017 Vice-President of the Polish Constitutional Court ( Polish: Trybunał Konstytucyjny ).

Life

academic career

Mariusz Muszyński studied until 1991 at the University of Thorn Law . He completed his studies with a master's degree and completed his legal clerkship at the public prosecutor's office. After an exchange stay at the University of Vienna, he also obtained his doctorate in Thorn in 1997 . His habilitation followed in 2004. In 2005 he received a professorship at the Chair of International Law at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw . In 2010 he also accepted a professorship at the Łazarski University in Warsaw . He specializes in international public law, European law and German-Polish legal relations.

Judge and diplomatic career

Mariusz Muszyński worked in the Polish Foreign Ministry and the Polish Embassy in Berlin in the 1990s, where he headed the legal department of the consulate. After 2005 he headed the Polish-German Reconciliation Foundation . From 2011 he was a judge at the State Court of Justice , since 2015 as one of the two deputies of the chairman. He has been a constitutional judge at the Constitutional Court since 2015, and as Vice-President of the Constitutional Court since 2017.
