Mark Schwahn (born July 5, 1966 ) is an American screenwriter and television director .

Life

Schwahn grew up in Pontiac , Illinois and attended the University of Maryland film school.

Schwahn became known for his work as executive producer and screenwriter on the television series One Tree Hill . In addition to working on the series, he wrote the scripts for the films Coach Carter , Full Points , Hopelessly in Love and 35 Miles from Normal . In 2015 he developed the television series The Royals , in which he is also involved as a director.

Due to allegations of sexual harassment against several actresses and employees of the series The Royals , he was sacked after the end of the shooting of the fourth season. Because of this, there has been no confirmation so far whether there will be another 5th season.
