The market fountain is a medieval fountain in Osnabrück . It stands on the Osnabrück market in front of the house where Justus Möser was born (Markt 26) and is covered with an octagonal bronze plate with shop windows.

The well dates from the 13th century and was probably backfilled during paving work in the 17th century. The Osnabrück pillory stood on the fountain after a copper engraving from 1633. During the redesign of the Osnabrück market, it was rediscovered in 1984 when the canal works were ongoing. The subsequent excavation of the well was accompanied by the archaeologist Wolfgang Schlueter . First of all, the citizen's fountain by the Osnabrück artist Hans Gerd Ruwe was to be set up above the fountain tube and remind of the historical fountain location. However, this was not possible for monument protection reasons, so that the citizen fountain found its location on the Peace of Westphalia square . In the end, the suggestion of Raimund Beckmann prevailed, which provided an octagonal wheel with viewing windows as a cover for the well tube.

With the council fountain in front of the town hall steps, there was a second fountain on the Osnabrück market. This is indicated in the pavement by a bronze wheel in the ground.
