Markus Hesse (referee)

Markus Hesse (* 1965 ) is a former German basketball referee .

Life

Hesse, who comes from the Hamburg district of Eißendorf and represents the Grün-Weiß Harburg association, began his referee career at the age of 16. As a referee, headed games in the basketball Bundesliga from 1989 , and at the end of the 2015/16 season he retired from the Bundesliga. From 1995 onwards , the Hamburg-based businessman, who worked in the petrochemical industry , also worked as a referee for the European basketball federation at international level, leading national and European cup matches.
