Markus Hongler
Markus Hongler (born September 15, 1957 ) is a Swiss manager . He has been CEO of Swiss Mobiliar Insurance Company AG since 2011 .
Life
The Lucerne Hongler completed a commercial apprenticeship at the general agency Lucerne der Mobiliar. A good 30 years later, he returned to Mobiliar as CEO . After various further training courses in Switzerland and the USA , Hongler joined Zurich Versicherung in 1983 , where he was a member of the management of Zurich Switzerland from 1997 to 2001 and then CEO of Zurich Global Corporate in Europe until 2005. From 2006 to 2008, Hongler was CEO of Zurich's Swiss business, after which he was CEO Western Europe and a member of the extended group management of Zurich Financial Services until 2011 .
In May 2011, Hongler succeeded Urs Berger as CEO of Mobiliar Versicherung .
Hongler has been a board member of the Swiss Insurance Association SIA , board member of Eurapco AG in Zurich, and a board member of AMICE in Brussels since 2011 . He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Lucerne Festival and the Bern Konzert Theater, as well as the President of the “Jugend und Wirtschaft” association.
